Bringing Canadians Together: Celebrating 150 Years

Canadians… we are a country of leaders, innovators, and global citizens.

We understand that our differences make us stronger. And we want to contribute to a more peaceful, prosperous, equal, and pluralist world for all.

For more than 35 years, Aga Khan Foundation Canada has brought the best of Canada to the world to change people’s lives for the better.

And now, for Canada’s 150th anniversary, we invite you to join us to make an even bigger difference in the world – and celebrate all the ways that we are Canadian.

Join us for AKDN Day!

For more than 35 years, the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN)  has been present in Canada, working with institutions, government, and Canadians to help millions of people in Africa and Asia unlock their potential to build a better life. On October 2, 2017 we are inviting Canadians to celebrate the AKDN’s role in the world and its partnership with Canada on AKDN Day. This event will showcase the rich and diverse work of the AKDN and celebrate Canada’s role in the world.

Come experience this free event at the Horticulture Building at Lansdowne Park in Ottawa featuring exhibits, art, music, and food.

AKDN Day is part of Ottawa 2017’s Ottawa Welcomes the World program, a series of world-class cultural events will promote and strengthen ties between nations on the occasion of Canada’s 150th anniversary.
